My stay at The Watergate Hotel was filled with highs and lows. The room offered stunning views of the Potomac River, and the comfortable bed made for great sleep. However, I faced challenges with the air conditioning and housekeeping communication that detracted from my overall experience.

Rooms

The room was lovely and featured a beautiful balcony, creating a luxurious atmosphere. However, the air conditioning malfunctioning was disappointing, as it often turned itself off at night.
Service

The staff's friendliness was a bright spot in my experience, especially at check-in. Yet, I faced issues with unsatisfactory communication regarding the housekeeping schedule, which was frustrating.

The hotel's location is fantastic, nestled in the charming Georgetown area and close to attractions. The balcony provided a lovely view, adding to the appeal of the location.
Dining
6.0
While I enjoyed some dining options at the hotel, including the Whiskey Bar, the breakfast was on the pricey side. The high-quality experience at the bar made up for some dining disappointments.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel boasts beautiful decor and well-maintained common areas, but the spa facilities and pool supervision left much to be desired. I found the lack of loungers in the pool area quite limiting.

I chose the Watergate Hotel for my 50th wedding anniversary, and while the views of the Potomac were stunning, my experience was somewhat mixed. The warm check-in and thoughtful touches like a handwritten note and treats in the room were lovely. but the loud elevator noises disrupted my sleep, leading to a less than restful stay. Overall, the hotel has charm and history, though there were some service issues that could improve the experience.

I had a nice experience at The Watergate Hotel, largely due to the superb service and picturesque views. However, the room did have some quirks, such as thin walls and the occasional noise that disrupted my sleep. Overall, it was a solid stay that I'd consider repeating, with a preference for a different room.

Rooms
8.0
My room was spacious with a wraparound balcony, offering lovely views of the river and Georgetown, but the layout of the bathroom was a bit odd. I was also disappointed with the noise levels from connecting rooms and heard some loud banging noises a couple of nights. Despite some maintenance issues like a hot water problem, the staff were quick to rectify it.
Service

The front desk staff was warm and welcoming, and I truly appreciated the attention to detail provided by the staff throughout my stay. They made me feel valued, whether it was providing a complimentary treat in my room or showing interest in my wedding anniversary plans. It really added a personal touch to the visit.
Location

The hotel’s location is perfect for exploring DC, especially being so close to Georgetown and the waterfront. I enjoyed running along the canal area, which was a lovely experience away from the busier mall vicinity. It's very convenient for anyone looking to visit major attractions.
Dining

I had breakfast at Kingbird, and it was good with delicious offerings like avocado toast. The service was prompt and friendly, making the dining experience even better. I wish I had tried dinner there too, as the reviews about the dining options sounded fantastic.

The hotel features various amenities including a beautiful bar and a large gym, which I found appealing. However, I noticed a few areas such as the carpets in the room that felt worn, reflecting a need for some updates and maintenance to enhance the overall experience.

My stay at The Watergate Hotel was filled with moments of luxury mixed with a few hiccups. The beautiful décor and friendly staff made for a welcoming atmosphere. However, the room’s quirks, like noisy neighbors and occasional issues with hot water, took away from the experience a bit. Overall, I'd return, but I'd request a different room next time to enhance my stay.

Rooms

I stayed in room 505, which was spacious with a king bed and a wraparound balcony. Though the views from one side were lovely, the noise from connected rooms was quite distracting at times. The bathroom layout was a bit odd with a combined tub and shower, and there was a brief problem with hot water, although they fixed it quickly.

I found The Watergate Hotel Georgetown to be incredibly elegant, with its beautiful decor and upscale atmosphere. However, I was somewhat disappointed by the dining experience, especially considering the high prices. While the location is convenient for reaching attractions, I felt the immediate surroundings lacked vibrancy and amenities within walking distance.

My suite was large and featured a huge wrap-around balcony with stunning views of the interior court, making it a highlight of my stay. However, noise from the nearby elevators was disruptive at night.
Service
6.0
Though some staff members were friendly, I experienced instances of inattentiveness and felt that the check-in and front desk staff lacked warmth and engagement. This detracted from the overall experience.
Location
7.0
The hotel is situated close to many attractions like Georgetown and the National Mall, but I found that exploring the immediate area required a bit of walking as amenities were sparse.
Dining
6.0
I dined at Kingbird for both breakfast and dinner. While the food was good, it didn’t meet my expectations for the price, and the service left something to be desired.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offered a lovely indoor saltwater pool and luxurious amenities, but I expected better attention to detail in service, such as replenishing coffee supplies and cleaning at appropriate times.
